Welcome to nothing. This platform can be both nothing and everything! It is designed to be used by football analysts, journalists, and fans — basically anyone who wants to analyse football in some way.
Nothing consists of two essential parts: datasets and dashboards.
The dataset is meant to answer the questions what and when.
The dashboard answers the question how. How do I want to visualise the data? A dashboard can consist of any number of widgets across any number of tabs, making the possibilities to visualise football data endless.
The fastest way to get going is the guided tour — it walks you through datasets, dashboards, widgets and the game flow.
Start by creating at least one dataset by clicking the datasets link in the menu. Here you'll meet another basic concept: aggregated data vs event data. What is the difference?
Aggregated data means that all KPIs you select are accumulated over the time period — per player or team depending on what you choose. This is ideal for comparing teams and players with each other, for instance in a spider chart.
Event data presents the data raw — every action is there. Ideal for visualising shots in a shot map, for example.
KPI stands for Key Performance Indicator. It is a metric used to measure performance — for example, the number of passes a player makes during a game.
Once you have created a dataset and picked some KPIs, head to dashboards to visualise the data by adding widgets.
All KPIs are explained here.
A widget is a visual representation of the data. It can be a table, a spider, a pitch, or anything else that visualises data.
Games is another way to create datasets, and a place to see basic data about a single game. From here you can manually pick any games you want to build a dataset from. Maybe you only want a certain team's away games for the season? This is the way.
Nothing is designed for desktop or laptop computers. It can also be used on a tablet or phone, but the experience is only as good as the screen is big.
Nothing runs in a web browser. There is no mobile app at the moment.
